Click here to visit! All of the staff and management at my local Comet store (Pool, near Camborne, south west Cornwall) were very helpful when a "Digital Hard Drive Recorder box" that I bought was found to be faulty. They exchanged it without any fuss or hassle, which is great for me as I have an anxiety disorder that makes me get severely worked up distressed very easily. Then, when the second "box" turned out to also be faulty and I was panicking, they put my mind at ease and allowed me to exchange it for a different make of "box" also with the minimal amount of fuss. (and might I say that the new "HUMAX PVR 9200T" box I got is fantastic and highly recommended).

I've been in and out of the Comet store several times (buying various items) both before and after buying the Digital Recorder and have slipped in a few technical (tester) questions where appropriate and I'm very happy to report that all the staff who I spoke to did indeed know what they are talking about and were very knowledgeable in the field. Unlike some other stores, which I won't name, which were unable even to tell me what HDMI on a TV stood for! (here's a clue, it's "High Definition Multimedia Interface" not "oh, um, High Def Main Input") The Comet assistant who was asked this question gave me a very prompt and correct answer, even expanding on the info with which DVD players were also HDMI compatible. Excellent!

The only thing I could pick them up on however, (and this is a minor failing) is when I wanted a new SCART lead for my TV in the kitchen. I was directed to a very expensive (about £30) gold plated lead. The assistant assured me that if it was for Freeview, then it would need to be an expensive lead or I would loose quality (which is true if you got a really expensive TV and Freeview box, but this was for a cheap portable TV and an even cheaper Freeview box in my kitchen). I then spotted a standard scart lead for about £5 to which the assistant replied "oh, I didn't think we had any of those in!" LOL :-)

So, to Roger (who I thought was called Steve for some reason!), Malcolm, Blonde Hair Girl and all the others who's names I can't remember, Here's a big thankyou from Normsweb.com!
